Pioneer Bible Translators Missionaries – Tye and Amber Parks
Our Story:

Tye & Amber – Missionaries with Pioneer Bible Translators
Walking with God is marked with moments of deepening surrender. In college, Tye felt God calling him to surrender his vocation and commit his life to missions. At Urbana 2000 he stood up and committed himself to God’s call. Obedience to God’s call led him to Campus Ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in 2001. He served faithfully for 9 years and had the joy of seeing hundreds of students surrender their live to Jesus and God’s call.
Amber committed her life to missions in 2004 at the National Missionary Convention. She was actively involved in InterVarsity as a student where she met Tye. Following God’s mission call she got her Master’s degree in Intercultural Studies at Lincoln Christian Seminary.
Tye and Amber were married in February 2006. God blessed them with twin daughters in 2009 and a son in 2013. In late 2009 they felt God calling them in a new direction where they could serve in ministry together. Around this time they learned about the needs of Pioneer Bible Translators and were excited at the prospect of serving together in a
mission that would allow them both to use their gifts and passions.
Our Ministry:
Tye currently serves as the social media engagement strategist. He creates and curates content designed to mobilize people to give, go, and pray for the Bibleless. Prior to 2016 Tye served on the Recruitment team where he helped to raise up the next generation of missionaries to people groups without a Bible in their language. Because of his years of campus ministry experience, he has the privilege of helping “cast the net wide” by recruiting future missionaries from campus ministries. Many of these students are on traditionally “secular” campuses where Pioneer Bible Translators has not previously had opportunities to engage Christian students for missions. It was during his time as a recruiter that Tye saw the need for a stronger presence on social media.
Amber served on the Media Arts Communications team until 2016 when she stepped back to focus on educating their children at home. Amber helped to create materials to aid Pioneer Bible Translators missionaries in communicating their role in reaching those who do not know Christ and who do not have a Bible in the heart language.
