Well the final weeks are here, very soon our lives will be forever changed. Our family will double in size. These two additions will bring a host of new challenges, experiences and (as most people are quick to add after the laundry list of hardships) joys.
I admit I’m excited and scared. As the time approaches I am mostly excited. I assume this is why God gives new parents 40ish weeks to prepare. Time allows us to get used to the idea of major life change. It allows us to get over our selfishness (or at least reduce it). Time also allows us to prepare our home for increased occupancy, though I admit we are still not completely ready.
Regardless of how ready we are they will be here soon. At the end of the day I’m as ready as I am going to be. After-all I have no idea what this is going to be like. I would be ill prepared of the addition of one much less two. Ready or not, welcome they are!

My list of cliches for you…
1. No pain no gain (This works for you and especially for Amber)
2. The sky is always darkest just before the dawn. (This works for you, Amber and for the Twins as they go through the birthing process.)
3. Life is tough…get over it. (Pretty straight forward, true and at the same time, very unhelpful.)
4. Every cloud has a silver lining. (or every stretched and swelled belly has a silver lining…well…that actually is not always true…but it is for Amber)
3. Try not…do or do not…there is no try. (Yoda…on parenting)
4. Sometimes you just have to roll a hard six. (Captain Adama…on raising twins.)
Okay, I have rewritten this I don’t know how many times. So, all I really have to say is, it will be great. You will feel so blessed to have those girls in her lives. They will teach you so much. Being a parent as been the greatest experience of my life. Buckle up for a crazy ride but one that is for sure worth all the ups and downs. Love you guys!
